From 1 April 2024 the Council's new Licensing Policy will be in force.
You should also familiarise yourself with the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.
You will be required to declare you have read these documents at the end of the form.
Before you begin this form you will need confirmation that you meet the Group 2 Medical standard. This needs to be completed by a doctor at the general practice where you are registered or a doctor that has access to your Summary medical records. The doctor must complete this Medical form. There will be an opportunity to upload this to your application however you can also supply this at a later date if you do not have it now. It must be supplied before your licence will be issued.
You will also need the following:
- Passport and where applicable your visa or written proof of right to work. If you are on a visa or have EU Settlement status you will also need to supply the 9 digit check code for us to check your status online. This can be obtained from the GOV.UK website
- DVLA Driving Licence
- 8 digit DVLA check code, which can be obtained from the DVLA GOV.UK website - Please do this before starting to complete the form and make a note. This code is case sensitive and one time use
- 9 digit code to prove that you are registered to pay tax, which can be obtained from the HMRC GOV.UK website
- Passport style photo of yourself taken within the last 12 months. This can be taken by yourself against a white background
- Original Enhanced DBS certificate if you have the online update service
- Safeguarding Training Certificate, if you haven't completed this yet, you must do so before your licence will be issued but you can submit your renewal without it
- Vulnerability Training Certificate, you must do this before you start this form, you will not be able to submit the form without it
If you do not have a current subscription to the DBS online update service you will be required to complete a new DBS application through TaxiPlus. Cost for the DBS is payable directly to TaxiPlus.
